This was by far the best thing we did in Hawaii. I had so so much fun. The crew was phenomenal, the views were amazing, not a single flaw. Even though I got stung by a jellyfish while snorkeling, it hardly ruined the experience for me. We did the sunset tour, and the sunset was unbelievable and the food was delicious. If I go back to Kauai, I will, without a doubt, do this again.
On the day we were there the sea was too rough to tour the advertised NaPali route- so we headed South. The captain warned us about sea sickness twice before we boarded. The first hour was calm and my whole family enjoyed the front of the boat and the views. Our snorkeling spot was okay- we saw a few turtles, but otherwise the sea life was sparse and not particularly vibrant (I think this was due to the clouds...).
Apparently another family rearranged their plans to accommodate us- which was so nice!!
When we got back on the boat I was struck with motion sickness pretty bad. The staff was amazing and checked on me often. I had some remedies with me- but over the course of the next two hours it just got worse. The crew had no control over my illness (obviously) but were so helpful and thoughtful! They brought me peppermint oil and changed out my buckets (sorry guys...).
My family said the food was very good and there was plenty of drinks, lunch and continental breakfast for everyone.
Great tour, awesome crew and captain (very funny too, love the jokes). We were able to see many dolphins, quite a few whales at a distance. The snorkel spot was not at its best visibility but it was overall an amazing experience.
The staff accepts tips- which they deserved!!- but I didn’t think to bring any cash with me, which I regret. They were attentive, informative, very watchful for the safety of all the kids on board and hardworking. thank you for the experience!
The check in is 6:45am and there are waivers to complete and some straggling check ins- plan to depart around 8am.
Our family did the beach landing raft tour. We weren't able to snorkel due to the water conditions but Captain Jordan took us out to swim later in the tour. The caves were amazing! Informative & fun. We would highly recommend a raft tour over the bigger catamaran ones. Everyone on the raft talked with each other & made the day more enjoyable. Thank you, Captain Jordan & Jake!
As for the rest of my family- they didn’t miss a second of fun. Both kids stayed at the front of the boat and enjoyed being splashed (with lots of fair warning from the captain!) and taking the “ride”. The views were gorgeous and we saw spinner dolphins, some flying fish and a whale in the distance.
We did the raft snorkeling tour and it was amazing! It was my favorite thing we did on this trip, even above the helicopter tour. The seas were a little rough on the way back but it was a lot of fun, never felt unsafe or like we were going to fall off. The crew (Jake and Sean) worked well together and were a lot of fun. They were also very knowledgeable and told us some history, fun facts, and legends along the way and answered any questions we had as well. The views were exceptional! Snorkeling was also fun and we got to see some sea turtles and spinner dolphins on the way out.
My family booked a sea tour in the Lucky lady a couple of weeks in advance. Due to maintenance issues we were cancelled twice, but when I spoke to a staff member and told her that we were leaving the island and couldn’t rebook- she scrambled to find a way to fit us in.
